-3 Longest flounder win 1st -3rd
-In case of a tie, weigh time decides winner by who weighed fish first.
-Weigh master has final say in regard to size
-No Bitching!!!
-Rod and Reel Only
-Flounder must be measured on a hard ruler with a stop. NO soft rulers/cooler rulers etc. Link to Chek-It Stick when you click the photo to the right.
-If ruler has 1/8’ increments that’s better so that every little bit counts
-If the fish length lands between to increments that length will be rounded down to the closest increment. Example: If the tip of the tail lands between 22-1/2’ and 22-3/4” that fish will be counted as a 22-1/2” fish. Hence the reason a ruler with 1/8” increments ishighly suggested.
-Fish’s mouth slid to the stop, mouth has to be closed, Flatty card placed on fish with special character drawn on card. (Special character will be announced the night before the tournament)
-Picture must be clear and legible and be of the entire flounder on the ruler.

The Flatty Classic was started by Josh Clement in 2019 with 11 other friends who wanted to have a friendly local flounder tournament. There was a $20 buy in with the heaviest flounder winning the entire pot. There was one stipulation. Winner had to buy drinks for everyone at the bar afterwards leaving very little winnings at the end!
Josh Clement won the 2019 tournament with a 15” flounder. In 2020 we had around 25 anglers and Jacob Lea was our winner that year. In 2021 we had 45 anglers with Bob Carr taking the win. In 2022 we had 141 anglers with John Hoggard taking the win with an impressive 7.7lb flounder. In 2023 we had an impressive 203 participants! The winning flounder weighed 11.52lbs and was captured by Fred Gorchess. Cash Clement took the win in the youth division with his 6.23lb flounder. To finish it out Quin Perry captured a 4.26lb flounder to take the win in the women’s division.
In 2022 Josh Lea and Jacob Lea jumped on the Flatty Classic team to help out with putting everything together and have been a huge help.
All profits will again go to local charities and Veterans. We would like to thank Ryan Kuperus over a The Reason Outdoors and Captain Jot Owens for your help with our veterans last year! We thank all of you who have supported since day one!
